Can I get a porta potty delivered the same day for a job site?

Our inspector flagged that we only have one standard unit for a crew that jumped overnight, and safety wants a second toilet on site before tomorrow's pour. The rental company said they might have a truck free this afternoon if I confirm before noon.

Has anyone actually gotten same-day delivery on a construction site, or is that mostly a sales line? The pad is gravel with clear truck access off the street, no fence gate issue. I do not need weekly service locked in yet, just the drop and a pickup date once the pour week is done.

Looking for what usually works when you call late morning and need a unit by end of day. What do they need from you on the phone to make that happen?

Same-day delivery on a jobsite is real when the yard still has a spare standard unit on the lot and a truck still has room on the afternoon route.

We have gotten afternoon drops when we call before the dispatch cutoff and the pad is already clear. What they need on the phone is the site address, a contact who will be reachable, gate or truck access notes, and a firm window for when someone can meet the driver or at least confirm the pad is empty. If the truck has to invent a second trip after the morning route is loaded, same-day usually dies even with clear gravel access.

For a short pour week you can ask for drop now and pickup on a named date without locking weekly service yet. Say that up front so they do not put you on the wrong ticket. Confirm the noon call before noon. After that the afternoon slots fill and you are looking at next morning.

When the crew jumps overnight, adding a second toilet is the right call under OSHA 1926.51 sanitation rules for construction. Do not wait on a vague maybe. Get a yes with a driver window or move to the next yard that still has inventory.
