October 2026 fall festival: porta potty solar lights needed after dark?

Our fall festival in a city park runs from noon to 10 PM on October 15, 2026. We expect about 1,000 people, with food trucks and beer sales. The event area has grass and paved paths, and a vacuum truck can access the placement spots. We're renting 15 standard units and two ADA-compliant units for the day. After sunset, the park lighting is sparse near the restroom cluster. Are solar lights typically included on standard portable toilets, or is that an extra rental cost? Do I need to request them specifically from the rental company?

Solar lights are not standard equipment on a standard portable toilet; they are an add-on you must request from the rental company. Most companies charge extra for them because they require installation, battery replacement, and maintenance. For your fall festival running after dark, solar lights are a good idea for safety and guest comfort. The rental company can attach them to the roof or door of each unit. You should also consider the placement of your cluster. Position it on a paved path if possible, away from tree cover, to maximize sunlight for charging the lights during the day. Since you have alcohol sales and a long event duration, your unit count meets the planning guideline for events. Make sure your ADA-compliant units are included in the lighting plan. Request the solar lights when you book the units to ensure availability.
