October 2026 fall wedding in a vineyard: can porta potties be placed on the gravel paths?

We're getting married at a working vineyard next October, a Saturday evening with 120 guests, dinner and wine served under a tent. The rental company asked where to put the restroom trailer and two ADA-compliant portable toilets, and I'm not sure about the surface. The main paths are compacted gravel, about ten feet wide, and the truck can drive right up to the spots we're considering. But I've heard gravel can shift or be uneven under heavy units. Does anyone have experience placing a restroom trailer or standard units on gravel paths for a wedding? Will the rental company need to bring extra leveling equipment, or is gravel usually fine if it's well-packed?

Compacted gravel is usually fine for both the trailer and the ADA units, as long as the spots are level and the gravel isn't loose on top.

We hosted a harvest party on our place with a trailer parked on a packed gravel drive and it sat solid all night. The crew set it with the leveling jacks and put pads under them so they wouldn't sink. A restroom trailer almost always comes with its own jacks and blocks, so you shouldn't need extra equipment unless the path has a real slope or a crown in the middle.

The ADA units are where I'd be pickier. The 2010 ADA standards want the ground surface firm, stable, and slip resistant, and the clear space in front of the door can't slope more than 1:48. Packed gravel can pass that. Loose pea gravel can't, because a wheelchair digs in. So pick the flattest, hardest packed stretch for the ADA unit and make sure the route from the tent to it is the same surface, not a strip of grass or soft dirt.

Two more things from our party. Walk the spots at night with a flashlight before the day, since vineyard paths get dark fast. And ask the driver to confirm the truck can turn around and get back out after service, because ten feet wide gets tight with a vacuum truck.
