Saturday backyard rental: does the porta potty stay until Monday pickup?

We're renting a standard unit for a Saturday afternoon graduation cookout in the backyard, about 40 people for five hours. The rental people said delivery Friday and pickup Monday morning. Is that normal for a one-day event, or should I push for Sunday pickup?

I get why the truck routes might skip Sunday, but the unit will sit on our driveway all day Sunday while neighbors walk past. Does the holding tank and deodorizer hold fine overnight after a busy party, or does smell get rough by Monday? Also, if Monday pickup slips to Tuesday because of their route, do most companies treat that as still included, or is that a whole other service visit?

Curious what other folks have seen on weekend event rentals and how tight the pickup window usually is.

A Friday delivery and Monday pickup is the standard weekend rental model for a standard unit for a one-day event. Rental companies typically do not run Sunday routes for residential pickups.

The holding tank and deodorizer are designed to contain waste and control odor for the duration of the rental. For 40 people over five hours, a single standard unit is sufficient based on event planning guidelines. The unit will not develop a significant smell by Monday morning if it was not overfilled during the party.

If the Monday pickup is delayed until Tuesday due to the company's schedule, that is generally treated as part of the original rental period and not billed as an extra service visit. You should confirm this policy with your rental company. The rental duration, not the service frequency, is the primary cost driver for a short-term event. Pushing for a Sunday pickup will likely incur an additional weekend service charge, which is why the Monday pickup is the normal arrangement.
