Porta Potty Forum

Our bathroom remodel wrapped Friday but the porta potty is still in the driveway. Do we keep getting billed until it's picked up?

We finished the bathroom remodel last Friday and I called that afternoon to have the standard unit hauled off. It's now Wednesday and it's still sitting at the end of the driveway, and my neighbor is starting to give me looks.

The rental started on a monthly basis and I never set an exact end date, I just said we'd call when the new toilet worked. Nobody has told me when a truck is coming.

Two things I'm trying to figure out. Does the rental clock keep running while I wait on their truck, or does it stop the day I asked for pickup? And is there anything I should do besides call again, like text a photo or get the request in writing, so I'm not stuck paying for days that weren't my fault?

Yes, the rental clock keeps running until the unit is picked up. Your contract almost certainly bills by the day or week until the rental company retrieves the unit, regardless of when you called for pickup.

Call the rental company again today and ask for a pickup confirmation with a date. Follow up with a text or email that includes a photo of the unit in your driveway and your address, so you have a written record of your request. This protects you if they try to bill for extra days due to their delay.

Most companies schedule pickups within a few business days, but a remote location or busy season can slow them down. If the unit blocks your driveway or becomes a nuisance, ask if they can prioritize the pickup. Keep documenting your calls until the truck arrives.
